Being a huge lover of print media myself, I have a real soft spot for a beautiful magazine. My room is full of Frankie, Russh, Yen and Oyster back issues, because they are so beautiful I can't bear to recycle them.

Collect is another magazine that shines through as a beautiful thing to have in your hands. Based in Adelaide and stocked all over the world, this is another Adelaidean gem. Gotye- SomebodyThat I Used to Know

Gotye's latest single Somebody That I Used to Know is doing ridiculously well in Australia at the moment - such a beautiful song and incredible film clip!

And yesterday local Adelaide dj's Loot & Plunder released their remix of the tune. I was verrrry apprehensive but, it really does sound great and does the song justice - plus - Gotye himself approves!

Stencil.

I have such talented friends! I'm sure I've said it before but it is so nice to feel inspired constantly by the people around you. Stencil is a jewellery label by my friend and Adelaide girl Emma Thomson.

Here I have stolen some images from her latest lookbook to share with you. The line is full of great contrasts in texture and structure with bold pieces that make a statement and are confident in their beautiful simplicity. The stunning model is our friend Erica, photos were taken by Elisa J, make up by Kath O'Connell.

Always good to see some artistic initiatives in little old Adelaide. This is a new mural commissioned on the Morphett Street Bridge in the city. The mural will be up for two years.

Sequoia Tree

A couple of friends of mine, Kristjana and Simone have a fashion label called Sequoia Tree - not sure why I haven't mentioned them before but I was just killing time on Facey (as you do) and remembered that they had some amazing photos taken last year and decided I should share them. The model is my very gorgeous sort-of step sister Mimi and they are taken around Adelaide Festival Centre by Jacki Browne Photography.

They really are clever girls - these photos have such a cool metallic/retro feel. They have been featured in SALife Magazine as up and coming Adelaide designers. Not sure where their stuff is stocked at the moment, if at all, but if you want more info check out their Facebook page.

Attitude Magazine

Attitude Magazine is a little Adelaide gem. It is a free publication that comes out quarterly. It has only been around since the beginning of 2010 (or thereabouts) but it already has a large following from girls and boys alike. It features the best in Adelaide fashion, style and popular culture and delivers it in well designed pages with some great photography.

So, next time you're out and about in Adelaide, keep your eyes peeled for a copy of Attitude. You can usually find it in cafes, pubs, clothing stores etc. wherever Rip It Up and Onion are, Attitude usually is too.

Five Thousand - The best cultural guide for things in Adelaide

Five Thousand is a guide to what's happening in Adelaide. There is a guide for each Australian city, based on their cbd postcode. For example, Melbourne has Three Thousand, Brisbane has Four Thousand and Sydney has Two Thousand. It is kind of like a magazine that comes out weekly, with articles on various events/places.

You can browse the site in the following categories:

• maps.

The Thousands have recently released an iPhone app for those who want to see what's on, on the go. Simply search 'the thousands' in the app store and hey presto! there it is.

Oscar The Third

Oscar The Third is a local label by designer Jessian Polk. The label has been around for quite a few years ago now, but has only come to my attention in the last year or so. The Othello collection was the Summer 2010 range and incorporates a beautiful understated colour palette of neutrals with luxe fabrics and simple, calculated cuts.

Now, their spring range which is called the Sweet Jane collection is out. This range follows a neutral palette as well but with a dash of burnt orange here and there to brighten it up. The cuts are once again simple and confident, making this label so very wearable.

It was a long weekend here in Adelaide and the sun came out on monday for Parklife 2010. It was a beautiful warm day  which was a welcome change and inspired me to wear a light cotton maxi dress with drawstrings that makes it shorter and I looked a little like a cream puff... and my Azalia necklace (which I currently seem to wear with everything) and a Sportsgirl hat.


 I saw some great sets from Groove Armada, Kele, Missy Elliot, Classixx, Chiddy Bang, Busy P and The Swiss to name a few. One act, Delorean, a spanish electro band was on my not to be missed list - but I was surprised to see a pretty poor turn out for their set. Granted, there were some epic clashes and I had to choose between them and New Young Pony Club, but they are a great band and I think they deserved a better crowd. Anyway, they put on a great set and the people who were there definitely enjoyed it!

My excitement for Summer continues to build and when I came across the designs of Ivana & Katerina swimwear my excitement level went through the roof! These girls have created truly one of a kind styles and have added an extra bit of flair to the humble bathing suit. These bathers are not for the faint-hearted - you will get noticed in these statement pieces!

Ivana & Katerina are an up and coming label from my home town of Adelaide, in South Australia and this is their second range of swimwear. They are being stocked at Azalia Boutique in Croydon and Chasing Nel in Glenelg, but check their website for other stockists. They are also stocked online at One Little Piece (love this online store) and Lavera Boutique.

I absolutely love the brightly coloured orange peacock print one piece and the black and white two piece with the frill detail on the shoulders. The entire range has this great versatility about it and the designers mention on their website that the pieces were also designed to be easily incorporated fashionably in to an outfit.
